The largest municipality in Asturias, covering 823 km² in the southwest region bordering León province. Home to the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Muniellos Wood and part of the vast Natural Park of Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña, and Ibias (550 km²). This rural paradise features pristine forests, traditional Asturian architecture, and elevations reaching 2,007 meters.
