Parador de Cardona (Catalonia)

If you’ve ever dreamt of sleeping in a medieval castle, Parador de Cardona will exceed your dreams. Perched high above the Catalonian countryside, the Castell de Cardona commands the landscape as it…

The Parador de Cardona is an imposing 9th-century fortified hilltop castle located in central Catalonia, approximately 90 km northwest of Barcelona. Presiding over the Cardener River valley, the fortress preserves thick medieval stone battlements, the 11th-century cylindrical Minyona Tower, and the monumental Romanesque Church of Sant Vicenç (consecrated in 1040).

Medieval Atmosphere & Salt Mountain

Guests stay in authentic stone-vaulted chambers with four-poster canopy beds and medieval heraldry. Nearby lies the unique Muntanya de Sal (Cardona Salt Mountain Cultural Park), an ancient geological salt dome explored via subterranean guided tours.
