An outstanding example of Romanesque architecture housing the Royal Pantheon, known as the "Sistine Chapel of Romanesque Art" for its magnificent 12th-century frescoes. The basilica contains the remains of San Isidoro and numerous relics, including a chalice said to be one of the contenders for the Holy Grail. Its museum displays important medieval manuscripts and artifacts.
